A Second Opinion When You Need One
Everyone using QuickBooks eventually hits a question that the help menu does not quite answer. Maybe a reconciliation will not balance, a report looks wrong, or you are not sure whether a purchase is an expense or an asset. A short conversation with a CPA is often all it takes.
Questions we hear often
- How should I record this payment, loan, owner draw or refund?
- Why does my bank balance not match QuickBooks?
- Why is a customer or vendor balance different from what I expect?
- Which account should this expense go in?
- How do I fix an entry I made in the wrong period?
- What should I send my accountant at the end of the year?
Accounting questions come first
We focus on the accounting side: what the transaction is, how it should be classified and how it affects your financial statements and taxes. For technical issues with the software itself, such as installation, subscriptions or error messages, you will generally be better served by the software maker's own support, and we will tell you when that is the case.
How to get a good answer quickly
- Tell us whether you use QuickBooks Online or Desktop.
- Describe what happened in plain terms, including dates and rough amounts.
- Mention what you were hoping the result would be.
Please do not send passwords or other login information. We will ask for what we need.
If the Questions Keep Coming
Frequent questions usually signal a deeper issue with the file or the routine. Consider training for your team or a tune-up of the existing file. Visit Services for QuickBooks for the full picture.
